The new 7Z format offers higher compression rate than any other compression format and uses LZMA compression method to compress files.
7-Zip supports packing and unpacking of 7Z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR. It supports unpacking of RAR, CAB, ISo, ARJ, LZH, CHM, MSI, WIM, Z, CPIO, RPM and many other formats.
7-Zip works on Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP and Vista as well.
